And the Walls Came Tumblin’ Down

Well, we missed the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Ice Palace by one day.

When temps warm and the rain begins taking its toll, the Palace has to come down for safety’s sake. Last weekend was also the end of the month – Edie at our favorite motel also explained that of course, insurance has to be carried on the palace and for the event, and the policy runs until the end of the month.

So, although we missed it by a day, I got some awesome pics of the chilly remains.

  1. Would need a heck of a martini glass for those ice cubes!

Loved the pics. On the last picture of the Ice Palace looking towards old Riverside Drive (now Kiwassa Rd.) you can see a big house with a red roof on the far left of the picture. My home was just next door to the left of that house-out of sight in the trees. Talk about coincidence. Yes, the people up there are terrific!

  3. Oh, such a shame you missed it by so little time! Pretty pictures anyway! blessings,Kathleen

  4. Love the new digs, Mouse!

Great pics! But now I have that song stuck in my head. 😛
